GCP How-to Instructional Videos

GCP Applied Technologies provides construction products for builders and contractors including a wide range of waterproofing materials. They were looking for a series of how-to instructional videos to demonstrate the installation of some of their products.

For this project, I developed the animation style and all the illustrations and storyboards that went to create the final animations. After many illustration style considerations, I landed on this isometric style to give the installers enough detail of materials, textures, and environment context for them to easily follow along for real world application yet not contain any additional level of detail that distracts from the installation process. Along with the style, some other important considerations were the movement of animation, scale, timing of animation/segments and additional graphics like arrows and dimension call outs to make sure there wasn't any level of important information missed. This series is currently in the field with GCP products helping builders and contractors today.
